The buffet selections did not have a great deal of variety, but all of the choices had good flavor. The portions were small, but if you ordered all four courses you should be covered. We ate at the Patio one night and a tip would be to put all of your selections in when you order. A more complete salad bar would have been better for her, and the grill at Portofino's usually got her covered. My wife is gluten free and she sometimes struggled to find what she could eat. No waits at the restaurants like had been previously reported, so I am sure they were nowhere near capacity. There were not many people at the resort, or it did not feel that way. I am sure our delay was due to the fact that they are changing so many rooms. By that time our room was ready and we were very surprised that the room was as nice as it was. I also got my arrangements made with Dive House for a check out dive. Headed off to the Seaside Grill for an outstanding burger and fries and the first of many rum drinks. We got into the resort and we only had a delay waiting for our room because the cleaning staff had not completed service for the day yet. Once we finally arrived and got into the taxi, our vacation turned for the better for sure. United messed up our reservations on the flight out, but that is another whole review. Travelocity did not confirm untill 24 hours before we had to check out, but it all worked out. While we were delayed in Houston we did confirm with the resort that we would still get our full week. We were delayed a full day by United's unbelievably poor customer service. The bed was comfortable at least! Overall, the only way I would recommend this resort is if you plan to snorkel or dive away from it all day and just sleep there with no expectations past that. When using the shower, the water built up in the door and ran out the bathroom into the hallway. To top things off, our bathroom had a tub/shower that the stopper did not work, so there was a rubber stopper that did not hold water and the hot water worked, but the cold water only came out the shower nozzle. We were also told by front desk that phone calls were $2 a min, then told by operator that it was $1 a min. On the forth day, I found them down the beach at Secrets and missed 3 days use because of bad info. The second day, I ask the front desk about kayaks and was told they didn't have them anymore. We wanted to print boarding passes and were told they did not have internet, then told we could have them emailed to their email address, but they never got them and also said they were short on ink in printer. The wifi was non existent except in the lobby and then not very good. A fire show on the beach that night was pretty good. It was off for 4 hours and we heard that alot of the Secrets people came over to eat since Sunscape did have partial power by dinner. The last night we were there, the electricity went off late afternoon, so we headed to town to eat at Margaritaville. There was a Mexican Fiesta one night, but the lines for food were horrible since everyone ate at the same time. The best thing we had were the burgers at Seaside Grill! The entertainment the first couple nights were movies in the lobby. It seemed everything was either lukewarm or cold, never hot unless it was custom made for you. We are not picky eaters, but the food was not very good and not much variety. First of all, part of the resort has gone to Secrets Aura next door, They can use Sunscape facilities, but we could not use theirs. We have stayed at all inclusives before and had a little higher expectations. Our room had a very nice ocean view on the second floor and most of the staff were wonderful. The resort was quiet, almost dead the first two nights. We had read lots of reviews before booking and even though a lot of them were negative, made our reservations based on Apple Vacations 5+ star rating, I wish we had gone with the reviews shortly after arriving, First, I will give the positives of our time there. My husband and I spent 6 days at Sunscape Sabor on Jan 25-30th.
